On Sex, October 2, 2012

It with great pleasure that I invite you to the first Junior Fellow Lecture of the year. Please join us at 7.45pm in the Massey College Upper Library this coming Tuesday the 2nd of October.

The Junior Fellow Lectures will continue the WIDEN format.

 

The theme for the first session of the year is “Sex” and will feature:

*Trevor Plint (Chemical engineering) on ‘Hot, Wet, and Sticky – Why Good Chemistry Is Like Good Sex’

*Dallas Grubbs (Medieval studies) on ‘“Folles Filles” in The City of Ladies: Christine de Pizan’s Instructions for Prostitutes’

*Arvid Ågren (Biology) on ‘Genetic conflicts: a persistent hangover from sex?’

This session will be moderated by Junior Fellow Jessica Duffin Wolfe, founder of original WIDEN and most recently The Toronto Review of Books.
